Coupling check

It is impossible to define degree of wear of a conducted disk of coupling in the mounted condition. The first sign of existence of defect when coupling slips. Couplings you will notice in the beginning Proskalzyvaniye at movement on the highest transfer under loading. The engine works at high turns, and speed thus does not increase. A certain explanation can give the following method which needs to be used only occasionally:

Coupling slides?


  1. Put the hand brake, start the engine.
  2. Put the 3rd transfer, slowly include coupling and give gas.
  3. At the faultless hand brake the engine should decay.
  4. If the engine works, coupling is faulty.

Coupling is correctly switched off?

If the transmission at the warm engine is badly switched or process of gear shifting is accompanied by scraping or roaring sounds, that, possibly, coupling correctly is not switched off. Very seldom this effect is connected with malfunction of a transmission. To be sure, we will inspect on the 1st transfer or on backing transfer:


  1. Start the engine idling.
  2. Completely squeeze out a coupling pedal, wait for about three seconds, then try to include the 1st transfer or a backing.
  3. If transfer joins hardly or the gnash is heard, it means that coupling is switched off not purely, i.e. the conducted disk rotates not absolutely freely.
  4. Check hydraulic system of coupling and pump over it.
  5. Once again inspect.
