Designations of tires

Under existing international agreements the size of tires is given in millimeters or, as in our case, in millimeters and in inches. Designations of 195/65 R 15 91 H or 205/60 R 15 90 V mean the following:

195 or 205: width of tires in not loaded condition in mm.

65, 60, 55: ratio of height of tires and their width = 65: 100, 60: 100 or 55: 100. Old radial tires which are not put any more on Audi A4, have a ratio of height of tires and their width 80: 100. The height and width ratio in tires with designation 65, 60 and 55 is respectively lower.
